- Online: during her time as Senior In-House Counsel at International Game Technology PLC (formerly GTECH S.p.A.), Jess advised the interactive division on a wide variety of commercial arrangements, including content licensing agreements, reseller and platform agreements, game development agreements and white-label agreements. During her time as Head of Legal & Compliance for Comeon!, the gambling operator arm of Cherry AB (publ), Jess advised the business development team on a variety of content licensing, white label partnership, affiliate marketing and sponsorship deals. More recently, as Head of Legal & Compliance at Red Tiger Gaming, Jess advised on all aspects of the company’s game development, game licensing and platform provision contracts. In particular, Jess negotiated licensing deals with several leading operators to supply game content in new regulated markets. Jess has also advised on corporate transactions including private company and business acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures and reorganisations.
- Land-based Video Lottery Terminal (VLTs) and Instant Ticket Sales: during her time at GTECH, Jess provided extensive advice on all aspects supporting its gaming machine, lottery vending machine and instant ticket sales business verticals. Jess worked with commercial stakeholders to ensure contracts with national lotteries and retail operators were won and extended.
- Regulatory: Jess has advised on matters relating to licence applications for both software supply (B2B) and operator activities (B2C), as well as ongoing matters pertaining to statutory obligations, licensing codes and conditions and technical standards. Jess has advised on the regulatory aspects of commercial and corporate transactions and on specialist areas that are subject to gambling regulation such as advertising and promotions. Jess also holds a Personal Management Licence with the Gambling Commission.
- Payments: having worked in-house for many years, Jess has advised stakeholders on issues in certain territories where payment transactions are scrutinised or targeted by regulators. Jess has also negotiated numerous payment service provider agreements including drafting standard terms for a payment gateway product launch.
